Today was a big day! I started teaching myself to eat with a spoon. Don't you know learning is quite messy! Also, I went to a swimming pool for the first time! So fun!

1 Year Old! Tennessee vacation Aug. 11-18, 2009

I went to see the mountains for the first time in Tennessee! This is on top of the Roan Mountain, near Elizabethton. What a great setting for my first birthday, a family reunion, & my great-aunt & great-uncle's 50th wedding anniversary! I did well on the two day car ride to get there. Enjoyed seeing friends in Georgia along the way!

Here I am with my birthday cake--showing off that I learned to blow! Mommy & Papa helped blow out the candle when it came time. My great-aunt hosted my party. Another great-aunt made my cake . . . & yet another great-aunt took part in decorating it! What a family affair!

At first I didn't want to try my cake. When I started playing with the animal toys from the top of the cake, I tasted something VERY GOOD! I decided right on the spot to learn how to feed myself with a spoon! One spoon became two--well, a growing boy must eat!!! I never had cake before my birthday! Mommy got about six bite-sized spoons of ice cream for me too!

I got lots of new toys. I probably doubled my toy collection!

Here we go on another two day drive to get home! I got to see more family in Hendersonville & Nashville! I had a great trip!

A Masterpiece! August 6, 2009

I was working down there! Mommy says she's not a fan of food pictures . . . and I agree it's not my best pose (more of a snarl really). Here I am anyway with my second food entry in a row! I grabbed my uneaten dinner off the table & started playing--spoon painting! This is a first! My legs, arms & clothes were carrot orange!

(I would have posted a photo of the lovely lunch I attended with another baby my age today--a little girl named Veronica! I hope her mommy e-mails photos soon!)

Ice Cream August 1, 2009

Mommy & I heard music playing outside. All of a sudden, she started running around--then whoosh, she was carrying me outside. There were kids on the street and a nice man in a van. Mommy got things from the man. I found out inside it was my first ice cream!!! Oh, SO YUMMY!!! I wanted as much as she let me have & then some. Papa ate some too. I can't wait to have more in two weeks on my birthday!

Cheers for Cheerios! July 28, 2009

I decided to take charge of my meals yesterday by screaming until I got fed Cheerios & nothing but Cheerios! Mommy wasn't sure what to do (I hear she consulted Papa, Granny & the internet). Today, Mommy gave me lots of Cheerios! I'm so happy!

Feed me what I want or I'm outta here!

Tuesday I decided to slide across the floor using two of Papa's CDs as sliders. Next thing I know, my butt was hanging out!

Well, Granny caught me trying to catch up on The Daily Dookie--next time I'll ask to use the computer!

I went to the beach yesterday--really just walked along the sidewalks, near Jacksonville Beach's lifeguard station. Enjoyed the lemons & reggae band at Bukkets restaurant. Viewed the waves; watched some seagulls. I'll tackle the water when I'm older!

I had a good first flight! No fuss! They even let "Captain Adorable" (me) take pictures in the cockpit & First Class.
